An Outstanding
Photo Restoration, Colourisation, and Creative Image Service
An efficient and responsible image service
Open and honest about working with your photographs and files
restoringyourpast.co.uk uses professional standards for storing and working with your images. Your personal details are never stored with images that you send to the site, and your images are never transferred to any other site or used without your permission.
Considering the potential security problems of using any online storage it's vitally important that you know your images are being stored responsibly, and not just laying around on someones home computer with all of your contact details. Working with someone who has professional experience of handling images that are copyrighted, and other sensitive material is essential, and that's the service that Restoring Your Past offers.
Every image that comes into the site is given a unique job number, this has no connection with your name, address, or any payment details. The photograph and all of the working files are stored within the folder system shown below.
The third folder contains your fully restored photograph prepared for however you intend to print it, and adjusted to exactly the size that you specify.

Working files
I can prepare files for any type of print or web use. There is no extra charge for producing different copies of your file at different print sizes or resolutions.
If you wanted a 10x8 sized file with a white border, and also a side by side file showing the original scan and the restored picture I would prepare these for you after you have approved the proof at no extra charge.
The working files are kept until you are completely happy with the final image, and can be stored longer should you wish to have further work undertaken on the picture at a later date.
In the case of colour tinting images, the working folder may contain several different versions of the picture, these are kept in case you want to return to an earlier version.
During the restoration process files are saved periodically, so that every step of the process is kept. This is particularly useful during long and complex jobs, and ensures that should there be a problem with a working file, there are always previous files to use rather than starting the process from the beginning.
aThe original file that is sent to Restoring Your Past is kept in it's original unaltered state so that it can be referred to during the restoration process.
aYour original file is always stored completely untouched. The restoration or enhancement work takes place on a copy of the file.
One unique job number for your files with no connection to your personal information ever
None of your personal information such as email, name, address or any details about the subjects in the photograph are kept with the image files.
